Topic: Review of "Igormania" DVD!

I just picked up my copy of "Hilarious House of Frightenstein: Igormania" yesterday and thought I would share a few thoughts:

1) Yes, it is a compilation of Igor moments and sketches with a few other characters thrown in, some Pet Vet segments, some Igor & Count segments, and some Grammar Slammer Bammer segments.  There are no music segments with the Wolfman.

2) It has normal opening and closing credits and runs just like an episode.  A little Igor does go a long way, but it only runs 65 minutes, and the Count segments are entertaining as always.

3) The artwork is nice with a bright green dvd case.

4) Best of all is this:  in the final sketch of the DVD, just before the end credits, the segment is one where Igor and the Count try to get Brucie to dance, by dancing themselves, and when Brucie won't move the Count is so upset he says "Brucie, I swear if you don't move, I will have to take it PERSONALLY!!!" and BRUCIE'S DROOPY LEFT EYE OPENS WIDE AND HIS BULGING EYES TURN TO LOOK AT THE COUNT!!!!  End of sketch.  I KNEW this happened at least once when I was a kid watching the show faithfully Saturday mornings!  I'm so happy to have seen it again!

Re: Review of "Igormania" DVD!

Wow.....that sketch is on the DVD (sad to say i have not picked up this one yet...i do have all theothers so far, even that terrible U.S release with the laugh track)... funny story, befor the dvd's were ever put out...and being in the states where i didnt get to ever see HHOF I spent many years trying to find episodes....well i did find a pretty beat up video with two full episodes on it...and that sketch was on the video!! not only that it had wolfman bit uncut (including the real opening music and get this... the Beatles Hey Jude complete!!) well, i'll stop rambling now...enjoy the show everyone!!!

Re: Review of "Igormania" DVD!

hi thunderclap, do you have that Hey Jude Episode on a VHS tape or DVD, because if you do, I'll do a trade with you for that episode, that is one of the episodes I am looking for

Re: Review of "Igormania" DVD!

Hi Dawolfman, i do have that on VHS however it is not a good condition tape, i am trying to get it put on dvd now, and when i do i would be happy to share with you...it is two full episodes, and also has the song Keep the ball Rolling...was a great find, you said you have some episodes, do you happen to have Jumpin Jack Flash.....very strong childhood memories of that one!!
well keep in touch ok?

Re: Review of "Igormania" DVD!

hey thunderclap. I do have Jumpin Jack Flash on a vhs tape, so I would copy and send a vhs tape through the mail, and then you can convert it to dvd from there. So when you say the tape is not in good condition, does it mean the episode is not in good shape, or is it just the tape itself. Like I mean is there sound on the episode, is the picture still good, that kinda thing. Now for that other episode Keep the Ball Rollin, is there another wolfman segment on that episode, because I have Keep the Ball Rolling, and it has Dance to the music after the opening sequence with Igor and the Count. If your ep of that has only that song, I would still trade for it, because it might have been used in a later episode. Just was wondering, but I would be happy to trade with you definitely.

Re: Review of "Igormania" DVD!

Hello Dawolfman, that is indeed the same episode with keep the ball rolling...as for the tape, the picture and sound quality is quite good, just an old tape which is why i want it transfered...but the quality is very nice....was quite a good find i must admit (as i said i spent years looking.. as i am in the states was not easy to find!).....speaking of which where are you? Buffalo NY here..why not leave me your email address if you like and we can talk more...always great to meet another fan of this wonderful show.

Re: Review of "Igormania" DVD!

hi thunder. I am from Regina Saskatchewan Canada. I first discovered Frightenstein when I was about 7 or 8 years old around 1984-85, maybe sooner, on CKCK TV here in Regina Saskatchewan. It came on the air at 6A.M on Saturday mornings. It came right after the Waltons. Of course this was during the 80s, the waltons were in reruns by then, but anyways, I guess my favorite segment of the show is the Wolfman, hence my nickname. I liked all the other segments too, especially when the count and igor can't get brucie to work. But when the wolfman segments came on, it was time to get up and dance to those great oldies, that he played. It's just too bad that the tv stations that carry frightenstein don't play the wolfman segments, it must cost oodles of money just to play some of those hits. hey jude prolly would cost the most to pay. So I have been looking for original episodes. And to see that you got Hey Jude, I would be interested in a trade, but anyways, my email address is below, and then we can talk there too. Talk to you later smile

my email address is howlingmad_Dicek@hotmail.com.

Re: Review of "Igormania" DVD!

I watched the new dvd I won with my daughter and she loved it.
I'm glad I was able to share it with her!!!!

Re: Review of "Igormania" DVD!

Sounds like IGORMANIA is simply fantastic!   By the way, I went to put a HHOF pic on for my avatar, but alas couldn't find them:(.  Went with my usual avatar type thingy... where do I find them?
Dawolfman, you really make me feel ancient!  I grew up watching the show first run on CHCH out of Hamilton.  Mind you, that was back when CHCH was an independent station and was producing such great things as Spiderman and Rocket Robin Hood as well, yes definatly prior to the CanWest/Global takeover of small indepentent markets...

Welcome to where the sun won't shine, to the castle of Count Frightenstein!
